Over two unforgettable nights, audiences in Armidale, Kempsey, and Port Macquarie will be treated to an exceptional lineup of award-winning shorts, featuring The Best of International Shorts and The Best of Australian Shorts, a dynamic celebration of storytelling from around the globe. Meanwhile, film lovers in Sawtell can look forward to Short Laughs Comedy, a side-splitting collection of the funniest short films from across the world, guaranteed to leave audiences in stitches!

Friday 27th March, 7pm: Let us take you on a trip around the world with the Best Of International Shorts programme. Amongst a host of international highlights enjoying their Australian premiere’s is the delightful Oscar-nominated A Friend of Dorothy, starring UK acting royalty Miriam Margolyes and Stephen Fry, who take us on a heartwarming journey where wisdom, compassion and friendship are found in the most unexpected places. Also hot off the Oscar nominations is the powerful and intimate The Singers. Joining them is My Plastic Mother, winner of the Flickerfest 2026 Best International Short Film, a deeply moving work from Indonesian filmmaker Amar Haikal. The programme also features Radix, winner of Flickerfest 2026 Best International Animation, a visually striking and imaginative animated short that showcases bold storytelling and innovative cinematic craft.
Saturday 28th March, 7pm: Our Best Of Australian Shorts program shines a spotlight on the incredible short film talent emerging in Australia, celebrating unique stories that honour our identity and culture. Catch a collection of stunning shorts supported by big names both in front of and behind the camera. Moving drama Tuesday Tuesday, won best female director at Flickerfest 2026 and stars Peter Phelps (Stingers) in a stellar performance as a man whose world is fading.
