FAQs
Are the cinemas still operating?
Yes, at this stage, all Majestic Cinemas remain open to customers. We will provide regular updates on our website, should there be any changes to session times at each cinema location.
I am a Movie Club Member, how does the voluntary administration affect me?
Movie Club Members will be able to continue obtaining their membership benefits across our cinemas.
Can I renew my Movie Club Membership?
You can renew your membership at any time, however we will provide a grace period for a time for recently expired memberships.
I have purchased and prepaid for my tickets or have a credit on my account, how does the voluntary administration affect me?
You can still use your tickets or credit as at this stage, all Majestic Cinemas remain open to customers. We will provide regular updates on our website, should there be any changes to session times at each cinema location.
I have a current voucher, can I still use it?
Yes, you can redeem this voucher for a ticket as normal, however you cannot redeem this online and need to take it into the cinema.
I have a current gift card, can I still use it?
Ordinarily, once an Administrator is appointed, customers cannot redeem gift cards and become unsecured creditors in the Administration. However, in this instance, the Administrators have made an exception.
If you have a gift card that you wish to use, you will no longer be able to use it online, however you can still take it into the cinema. Gift cards can be used to purchase items on a $1 for $1 basis. That is, you will need to spend an equivalent amount by cash or card as the Gift Card amount you wish to redeem. For example, if you make a purchase for $20 at the cinema, you can use your Gift Card for $10 and pay the other $10 by cash or card.
T’s and C’s apply.
What is Voluntary Administration?
It is a process initiated when a company faces insolvency and cannot pay its debts. It involves appointing a 'voluntary administrator', usually by the company directors, to assess options and devise the best course of action for the business and its creditors. This process aids in determining the company's future, whether it's restructuring, liquidation, or a different solution.
Voluntary administration allows the company breathing space to deal with creditors in an orderly manner and prepare a proposal to give the best return to stakeholders.
By entering into voluntary administration, the company can access the support and advice of an independent Administrator who will help to assess the business’ financial situation and develop an appropriate strategy for moving forward.
I am owed money, what do I need to do to take part in the dividend process?
Complete and return a proof of debt form together with documents to support the amount claimed. A proof of debt form is available here.
